Using input elements
In the form designer there are different input elements, group elements, structure elements and special elements available. The following list explains all input elements and their specific setting options:
1. Input field
Single line text input
Type: text, integer, decimal, phone number, email, URL
Default: The value entered here will then be pre-filled when filling in later. With the option “Default as placeholder” this value is only displayed with a gray background (e.g. as explanation text), so the field actually remains empty despite the default value then displayed.
2. multiline text field
Multi-line text input. Line breaks can be used.
3. Date / time
Input of a date. The entry is made via a calendar overlay.
Type: Date, Time, Date & Time
Default date: A default date can be set, e.g. today, yesterday, tomorrow, etc.
4. Checkbox
A checkbox that can be selected and deselected.
Label for NO choice: The output value if the field is not selected. This value will appear in the export file (PDF/Word) when sending.
Label for YES choice: The output value when the field is selected. This value will appear in the export file (PDF/Word) when sending.
Default value: Defines whether the box should be selected by default or not.
5. Selection field
List with multiple selection elements
Multiple: Allows the selection of multiple elements
Default: The value or values that should be preselected.
6. List
List with multiple selection elements, also enables the use of cross-form lists.
Multiple: Allows the selection of multiple elements
Cross-form lists: List elements are taken from the global, cross-form list. The list can be managed centrally across all forms.
Default: The value or values that should be preselected.
7. Photo
Insert a photo from the camera or from the device’s image archive. In the Android and iOS app, you can also draw or mark over the photo. There are various brush colours and line widths to choose from.
Preview size: Determines the app display size of an image after insertion. The size in the PDF export is independent of this and is defined using the placeholder in the Word template.
8. Signature
A signature can be made via the touchscreen of the device.
Blocking: If the “Blocking” field is activated, nothing can be changed in the form once it has been signed, unless the signature is deleted again.
Preview size: Determines the app display size of an image after insertion. The size in the PDF export is independent of this and is defined using the placeholder in the Word template.
9. Drawing
In the Android and iOS app, a drawing can be created using the touchscreen. There are various brush colours and line thicknesses to choose from. You can also upload a background image, e.g. a floor plan, into which you can then draw.

10. Slider
Slider with number scale (e.g. 1 to 5) or text scale (poor to very good).
Type: Integer or text
Default: The value that is displayed preselected when the form is opened.
11. Geolocation
Determines the current location of the device (depending on the respective location setting of the device)
Automatic geolocation: If activated, the location is automatically determined when the form is opened, provided the app has been granted authorisation.
12. Voice recording
Allows sound to be recorded via the device’s microphone.
13. Barcode / QR code
Allows a barcode or QR code to be scanned.
