What is a repair order?
With a repair order, the customer commissions a business in writing to carry out a repair. It records who the client is, what needs repairing, what damage there is and which services will be carried out. With the customer’s signature, the order is documented.
Is there a Word or PDF template for repair orders?
Formtastic is not a template to print out but a digital form for smartphone, tablet and browser. You still get the result as a PDF or Word file, in your own layout with your logo if you wish. We can convert your current Word or PDF form into a digital template for you.
Can the customer sign the repair order right on site?
Yes. The template contains a signature field for the client. Signing takes place directly on the smartphone or tablet; further signatures, for example from the employee, can be added.
Can I attach photos of the damage?
Yes. The template contains a field for damage photos. Photos are taken with the app and appear in the PDF.
Can I record working time and materials in the repair order?
Yes. You add fields for working time and materials used in the Form Designer, and calculation fields can work out hours and totals using a formula you define. For pure time and material recording there are also the Timesheet and Construction Work Report templates.

Does the repair order work without internet?
Yes. Forms that are already on the device can be filled in offline in the Formtastic mobile app for iOS and Android. As soon as an internet connection is available again, the data is synced. A connection is needed for the transfer to the web portal and for automatic delivery.
Can I use my existing repair order?
Yes. You can adapt the “Repair Order” template in the Form Designer or use your existing paper, PDF or Word repair order as the basis. Formtastic helps you set up your first digital template free of charge.
How does the repair order get to the office and the customer?
After syncing, the data is available in the web portal. Depending on the template settings, the repair order is sent as a PDF or Word file by email, for example to the office and to the customer. The data can also be exported as an Excel file.
