Create form elements via drag & drop

A form template is created across 3 steps. In the first step, the desired fields or elements can be dragged and dropped from right to left into the form area at the desired position.

Each element must then be configured. Click on the element to open the settings menu. Depending on the element type, different setting options are available – an explanation follows on the next pages.

Important note: The field name you choose is also the placeholder name used later, e.g. in your Word export template (see Step 3 – Email & Export). Whenever you change a field name afterwards, please also check the placeholder names used.

The following form elements are available:

Input elements

  • Input field (text / integer / decimal / phone / email / URL)
  • Multiline text field
  • Date / time
  • Checkbox
  • Selection field (single / multiple selection)
  • List (single / multiple selection, incl. cross-form lists)
  • Photo (in the mobile app you can also draw over photos, e.g. to add annotations)
  • Signature (optional: lock after signing)
  • Drawing (optional: with background image)
  • Slider (integer / text)
  • Geolocation: location data is captured during filling depending on device settings – manually on tap or automatically in the background.
  • Transcribed audio: records sound via the microphone and automatically transcribes it as text.
  • Barcode / QR code
  • Duration: input of a time duration in a defined format (e.g. hours and minutes), can be added to a date.

Group elements

  • Group: Several fields can be organised in a group for better clarity. In the mobile app, the fields can be arranged either stacked or side by side.
  • Expandable group: The fields within this group can be filled in as a block multiple times. Entries are displayed stacked below each other.
  • Table: Similar to the expandable group, but fields are displayed side by side in columns.

  • Static text
  • Static image
  • Dividing line

Special elements

  • Calculation: Live calculation based on a formula you define, using previously entered numerical values.
  • File: Fixed inclusion of a PDF that can be opened during filling.
